Boston Private Industry Council is established.

Founded by banker William Edgerly and others, its headquarters are located at 2 Oliver Street. Its purpose is to “partner with the Boston Public Schools, higher education, labor, the community, and government to provide set strategic priorities for public job training funding.” The nonprofit, business-led organization continues today.
